Conference Overview

TV naturalist presenter and star wildlife cameraman Simon King was guest of honour at the BNA Annual Conference on 10th May 2008. Simon was the 2008 recipient of the Peter Scott Memorial Award, and addressed the Conference. Simon is best known as presenter/wildlife cameraman on the BBC's 'Springwatch', 'Autumnwatch' and 'Big Cat Diary'.  

The Conference was held at Forest School,

Snaresbrook, in Epping Forest.

The Conference

Among the other speakers was Professor Alastair Fitter, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of York University, and very well known as writer of excellent field identification guides, on which he often collaborated with his father, Richard Fitter (a long time Vice President of BNA). Alastair talked about his father's amazing achievements as a naturalist, and their joint phenological studies.
