Please Note: Outdoor Meetings
- It is advisable to wear suitable clothing and footwear.
- Sorry, but we do not allow dogs to accompany our walks.
- We would urge members to share car transport to events.
- If you need to arrange a lift, please telephone. However a spare seat cannot be guaranteed.
- Should you intend to join any outdoor activity somewhere other than at the meeting place, the leader should be told in advance. We remind you that you will not then know if the walk is cancelled or changed at the start.

BNA cannot be held responsible for any mishaps or accidents that may occur on Branch outings. There is public liability insurance cover for field and indoor meetings arranged by the Branch.

The insurance policy does not cover personal accidents.

Unless specifically stated in the event description, to attend any of the events above please

e-mail: at least 2 weeks prior to the event giving your telephone number so that you can be contacted if the trip has to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
We welcome both experts and people with no knowledge of natural history who want to learn about the natural world. All events are free to members of the BNA except where specifically stated. Non-members of the BNA are most welcome to attend events but after they have been to three events they will be expected to become members of the BNA. A small donation of £2 by non-BNA members attending our events would be appreciated.

Projects and Other Activities in Which to Become Involved

Equipment for Loan to BNA Essex Branch Members

We are keen to encourage our members to become actively involved in observing and recording wildlife. To that end we are currently considering purchasing a trail camera which can automatically switch on and record wildlife that passes in its vicinity.  This will be ideal for members to set up in their garden or other secure places to see what passes through in the hours of darkness.  As well as a trail camera we also hope to make available to our members a microscope and butterfly nets.
