GRADES OF MEMBERSHIP


An application form may be downloaded opposite to apply for recognition as an
Associate (ABNA),
Registered Member (MBNA) or
Fellow (FBNA) of the British Naturalists' Association.

Grade Guidance Notes are also available opposite.

Application for the higher grades requires the support
of appropriate natural history referees.


Ordinary members who are active field naturalists and whose skills and expertise meet the required criteria may apply to become a Registered Associate, Registered Member

or Fellow of the BNA.


A successful registration will entitle the member to use the appropriate

post nominative initials and the entitlements detailed below.


FBNA Fellow of The British Naturalists’ Association.

MBNA Registered Member of The British Naturalists’ Association.

ABNA Registered Associate Member of The British Naturalists’ Association.


Application for the higher grades requires the support of appropriate natural history referees.
